Workforce Training
StartCare recognizes the impact of economic opportunity and other social determinants of health on individual and community wellness. In keeping with our mission, we have launched a no-cost Workforce Training Program at our Washington Heights location, open to all community members- enrollment in other StartCare Services is not required. This program equips individuals with essential tools and resources needed to achieve sustainable employment and thrive.
We are partnering with Renaissance Technical Institute to offer certified OSHA-40 courses that prepare participants for a career in construction, a continuously growing industry in NYC. All enrolled participants will earn their OSHA-40 certificate, including safety certification, in just one week.
Training participants will access (at no cost):
- OSHA-40 training provided by a credentialed instructor, with certification printed upon course completion.
- Vocational counseling, including support with the employment application and retention process.
- Connection to potential employers, depending on available opportunities.
- Streamlined access to StartCare’s mental health and addiction programs, according to individual wants and needs.
You do not need to be enrolled in our mental health or addiction care programs to participate in training.
