Β Β I have been a part of START almost 8 years.Β
This December, I made 3 years sober. From the moment I rise I have to be on point. This disease is very serious, and all its takes is one wrong choice, and Iβll be right back where I started. For me, it took a long time to get the message and I really donβt think I will be where I am today without this help. For me one of my goals is to eventually come off methadone, complete the program, continue with sobriety, and live the rest of my life as God and my loved ones wanted me to. I can say it is getting better, and I want to tell whoever may read this that a place like START do workβ¦I can say that of all the time I have been at START this is the only time I do not miss a groupβ¦ the important thing is to keep coming somewhere down the line the person may hear that one thing which would change his or her life.Β Β

The program made me feel at ease and helped me realize that other peopleβs opinions of me donβt matter. My opinion of me matters. My counselorβ¦have been great and helped me achieve my goals. Iβve never felt judged like I did at other places. I always felt welcomed. The staff have been friendly and supportive to me. Everyone treats me with respect. I really feel like this program has helped become a better person, and thank you all for that.Β Β
